First Aid and CPR AED C - Emergency or Standard - Online Only (Interim Certificate for COVID-19)
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Alberta Occupational Health & Safety has made some adjustments to workplace first aid certifications. Normally, online-only courses are not accepted by Alberta OHS for workplace first aid - in-class skills sessions are required. However, there is a temporary provision for online training as an interim certification, with the skills being completed at a later date.
How will this work?
Step One - register for and complete the online course here, for either Emergency First Aid or Standard First Aid. You will receive an interim 90-day certificate.
Step Two - register for and complete the in-class skills session for the course level you have selected at https://aurora-training-corp.myshopify.com/products/first-aid-cpr-in-class-skills-component-after-completing-online-course . The skills must be completed within 90 days of the online course. Then you will receive your full 3-year certificate.
What about if the pandemic lasts longer than 90 days? At this time we have no further information from Alberta OHS regarding this; we will update as appllicable.
In-class skills session dates are now available and you can register at https://aurora-training-corp.myshopify.com/products/first-aid-cpr-in-class-skills-component-after-completing-online-course .
The online course is non refundable - final sale.
Will my employer accept the interim certificate?
Alberta OHS has released a communication confirming the interim certificate is acceptable but the final decision is with employers. Your employer is welcome to contact us to confirm.
